ORAFOL continues to expand its international market position; long-term growth is part of our corporate strategy. 

But how do we stay completely “ORAFOL”? How do we preserve our character as a unique East German SME, ensure fast decision-making processes and trust-based cooperation? That is where our strong corporate culture comes into play. We know what we stand for and integrate this compass into our day-to-day work.

What values do we live by in our daily work at ORAFOL? How do we measure successful teamwork and what can employees expect from their managers? 

The ORAFOL management guidelines ensure a clear position and integrity across the company. They ensure transparency, clear expectations for everyone and provide a framework for appreciative teamwork.

Values basis for business partners: Code of Conduct

A common set of values as a compass that guides us all towards a common goal: We also nurture these with business partners and suppliers in Europe and worldwide. To this end, we developed a Code of Conduct with ethical values and principles to which we are committed. 

For example to fair competition, data security, equal treatment and respectful communication. We reject incitement, hate speech and corruption in any form - and will not work with partners who do not respect these values.

ORAFOL stands for entrepreneurial excellence. As a testament to this, we have received the "Best managed Company" award several times: 2022, 2023 and 2024.

ORAFOL is a manufacturing company. So we have a special responsibility when it comes to energy consumption and emissions - and we settle for nothing less than the best. 

We ensure our ecological sustainability with international standards across the entire value chain, from development and production to logistics. And because we are particularly forward-looking in the way we do business, we also have the resources to make ambitious investments.

Professional management of climate action and environmental protection

Sustainability is part of our corporate strategy. That's why we take a systematic approach: At our headquarters in Oranienburg, for example, we operate a greenhouse gas balancing system. This enables us to identify exactly where we can save even more emissions. 

We also operate a certified environmental management system in accordance with the official ISO 14001 standard. This enables us to record precisely where we have an impact on our environment (e.g. emissions, waste disposal, use of soil and water) and reduce it to a minimum.

Energy efficiency is a top priority

The fact is: The industrial production of foils and adhesive tapes requires energy. However, we keep consumption as low as possible through the energy-efficient operation of our plants. 

We ensure this through a certified energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001. For example, we save large quantities of natural gas in our thermal oil systems, improve the energy consumption of technical systems and always use modern, energy-efficient spare parts instead of older series when carrying out repairs. 

Investments in resource-friendly technology

We spend money to save resources: ORAFOL is investing 160 million euros at its headquarters in Oranienburg alone by 2024. These funds will be used, among other things, for state-of-the-art building and systems technology, which will operate lighting, heating and ventilation with significantly less energy in future.

Research & development for future industries

At ORAFOL, research meets application. As a high-tech company, we therefore continuously invest in efficient laboratory and production technologies for industry-related research and development. At our headquarters and at our 17 subsidiaries, this is reflected in our day-to-day business: around 100 specialists in seven divisions around the world develop products for future industries. Together with our research partners in science and industry, we create the basis for optimized product cycles, resource and energy efficiency and intelligent recycling on a daily basis. 

 

We are actively shaping the future by researching and developing our own sustainable solutions, while also looking far ahead: along our value chain, we identify new technologies that will shape our industry in the future. By acquiring specialized companies and developing them further, we make innovations usable for ORAFOL and for our customers. 

 

Engineered for excellence: We are convinced that the interdisciplinary collaboration of our research teams and our strong focus on industry-oriented developments will enable us to meet this requirement.

Top quality for customers and the environment

Excellent products not only satisfy our customers, but also avoid waste and pollution. We therefore guarantee our customers durability for 10 years and longer for all types of wrapping and adhesive tapes. This means that reflectors, markings or adhesive surfaces do not need to be replaced at all or only rarely, so that waste is not produced in the first place.

Solar energy at full power

Green energy instead of fossil fuels: at our headquarters in Oranienburg, we are working flat out to expand our photovoltaic capacity by 2026.

Sustainable in Brandenburg and in the world

Our commitment to the environment does not stop at national borders: all of ORAFOL's subsidiaries around the world follow the same high sustainability standards as the parent company.

Social commitment and appreciation

ORAFOL is committed to social values. This includes supporting regional social initiatives and promoting the participation in society of people with disabilities. We also place the highest priority on the safety and well-being of our employees.

Health and safety first and foremost

The health and safety of our employees is our greatest asset. That's why we do everything we can to reduce the risk of injuries, accidents and work-related illnesses. 

Since fall 2023, a certified health and safety management system in accordance with the official standard (ISO 45001) has been in place to ensure even better health and safety in the workplace.

For ORAFOL, Oranienburg is not just a business location - it is a home. In order to give something back to the local community, ORAFOL is therefore

  • a cooperation partner of the Caritas Werkstatt Oranienburg
  • a sponsor of the Oranienburg Handball Club
  • a sponsor of the Oranienburg soccer Club Eintracht 1901
  • a regular donor to the youth fire department, disabled association and schools
